The SAS Process - Upstream Waste Treatment Services
The SAS Process - What It Is
At SAS Environmental Services we have developed a process that allows these liquid wastes to be treated fast and effectively compared to thermal treatment or de-watering attempts. The SAS-ES process and approach is unique and has a proven track record in use around the world since 2002. We work with our clients to optimise their drilling waste management. Prevention is always better and by collaborating with our clients we first of all identify where changes can be made to the current process that will reduce drilling waste volumes.
The SAS Process - What Happens
In the SAS-ES process oil and water are recovered. The water is re-used in drilling, exploration, production or disposed of in an injection well. The solids are the only waste part and can often go to landfill without further stabilizing or treatment required. Based on projects from 2002 – 2019 waste reduction is on average 70% – 97%.
The SAS-ES process can include engineering equipment already in place, locally sourced equipment or our in-house developed MIST systems for slops treatment. It is the combination of the right engineering with our unique chemistry and our expertise of decades in drilling waste treatment and management that brings the value to our clients.
In order to provide you with the most suitable and economic solution to address your oil waste treatment we have a process that is the result of 20 years of oil waste treatment projects.
At the first stage we have to Understand more about your project, the waste to be treated and the outcomes to achieve to be successful and the client can learn more about our capabilities and
We then move to Assess the project in greater detail and this often includes a site visit, evaluation of the waste and lab testing and logistical and operational considerations.
Once we have done so we will Design the right process for your oil waste, for the required outcomes and we will take into account the site, logistics, any operational limitations, regulatory parameters and possible equipment already onsite.
Finally we Deliver the solution to you and work with you to implement the process, the chemistry and the engineering.
