The SAS Environmental Services approach to delivering the right solution
Oil waste treatment can often be a complex project. A pit filled with legacy oil sludge often suffers from a wide variety of oil waste. Some parts may be liquid with high oil content and significant amount of water present. Other parts may be almost solid with little oil and water present. Standard equipment usually consists of some kind of tricanter with a heating element upfront to lower the viscosity of the oil sludge. Knowledge of the waste deposited in the pit is often minimal or lacking. The origin of the waste may not be known. Sometimes the waste is pre-treated or was treated at some point in the past (also unknown) and this has caused further issues.
The problems stack up, the waste cannot be separated and the contractor or waste management company needs to find solutions while working on the project.
It does not have to be this way. At SAS Environmental Services we specialise in setting up projects the right way and getting ongoing project back on track to achieve the required outcomes. We can do this because we understand oil waste and because we have a unique chemical technology based on microemulsions where nanometer sized micelles separate out the waste and create results where other technologies fail.
At SAS we have worked since 2000 with many companies in the oilfield and in oil waste management. We have been involved in many projects and we have worked around the world in upstream waste management and all the way to aged waste pits and lagoons. We have seen it all and we have treated it all. No two projects were the same.
We work to understand your waste project and requirements, we then assess the waste, the logistics and the best way to handle and treat the oil waste. Once we have this, together we can design the right treatment process. Finally, we deliver the right solution consisting of engineering, SAS SludgeTreat chemistry and our highly experienced and qualified team and we create the outcome you need.
